Job Description

OVERALL SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Plant Accounting Support, the Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting and reviewing Manila-based plant accounting activities for assigned manufacturing sites and Plant Controllers. The role serves as an extension of the Accounting organization by providing month-end close support, journal entry preparation and review, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, fixed asset and CIP accounting, manufacturing cost accounting, and other plant controllership activities.

The Senior Accountant partners with Plant Controllers, Supply Chain Accounting, Corporate Accounting, and site finance teams to support timely financial close, accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and standardized accounting processes across assigned manufacturing sites. This role is expected to handle more complex accounting matters, support issue resolution, review work prepared by junior team members, and help drive process improvements across recurring plant accounting activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting Operations & Month-End Close

• Support and review recurring plant-level month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account analysis, close schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for assigned plant accounts, including inventory, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, CIP, and other plant-related accounts.
• Investigate accounting variances involving inventory, manufacturing expenses, purchase price variance, standard costs, and other plant accounting balances, escalating issues as appropriate.
• Prepare and review recurring plant accounting reports, including close support schedules, inventory reports, cost center reporting, manufacturing cost reports, and variance analyses.
• Support timely resolution of close issues by coordinating with Plant Controllers, Accounting, and site finance teams.

Plant Accounting Support

• Support inventory accounting activities, including cycle count support, inventory adjustments, reserve analysis, physical inventory activities, and follow-up on inventory discrepancies.
• Support fixed asset and CIP accounting activities, including project spend tracking, capitalization, asset additions, retirements, transfers, and supporting documentation.
• Assist Plant Controllers with accounting review of standard costs, manufacturing variances, inventory valuation, and other plant accounting activities.
• Review complex plant accounting activities and provide guidance to junior accountants as needed.

Controls & Compliance

• Support compliance with accounting policies and internal controls for assigned accounting processes.
• Support internal and external audit requests through preparation, review, and timely submission of documentation.
• Identify control gaps or recurring issues and support remediation actions with Accounting leadership.

Stakeholder Partnership & Process Improvement

• Partner with Plant Controllers, Accounting, Supply Chain Accounting, and site finance teams to resolve accounting issues and support timely financial close.
• Support training and knowledge-sharing with junior accountants and other team members.
• Identify opportunities to standardize, document, and improve recurring plant accounting processes.
• Support process improvement initiatives related to journal entries, reconciliations, close schedules, reporting templates, and issue resolution workflows.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy required.
• CPA or Registered Cost Accountant designation preferred.
• 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing accounting, plant accounting, cost accounting, or shared services.
• Experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting, or manufacturing accounting required.
• Experience reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and close schedules preferred.
• Experience with SAP required; experience with OneStream, Power BI, inventory systems, or fixed asset systems preferred.
• Experience supporting manufacturing environments, plant controllership, or operational accounting preferred.

• Ability to review work, coach junior team members, and support knowledge transfer.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to build effective relationships across Accounting, Plant Controllers, Supply Chain, and Operations.

• Ability to work onsite in Makati three days per week.
