Job Description

Shift: Night
Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 2/2/3 schedule
Shift Premium: $1.00
Pay rate: $19.25/hr (Negotiable depending on experience)


Join Sealed Air as a Press Operator in our St Joseph, MO facility and become part of a global leader in packaging solutions. In this role, you'll operate flexographic printing equipment to produce high-quality packaging materials while maintaining safety standards and production efficiency.

This position operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to typical production equipment and materials. The role requires working rotating shifts to support 24/7 operations. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is provided and required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate flexographic printing presses and related equipment to produce high-quality packaging materials
  • Set up, adjust, and maintain printing equipment according to job specifications
  • Monitor print quality and make necessary adjustments to ensure consistent output
  • Perform quality checks and maintain detailed production records
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Mechanical and manufacturing experience is desired
  • 1-3 years of experience operating flexographic printing equipment preferred, but not required
  • Technical certification in printing technology or a related field is a plus
  • Knowledge of color management and print quality standards
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications and technical documentation
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S methodology
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed


Additional Requirements:

  • Requires basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Ability to pass a hue and color vision assessment.
  • Able to work without close supervision and instruct others as necessary.
  • Able to follow instructions and make decisions based on data obtained.
  • Computer knowledge- Word, Excel, SAP, and others.


Safety Requirements:

  • Participate in safety observations
  • Wear all required PPE and PFS: beard/hair net, hearing protection, safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • Perform all duties using safe work methods
  • Attend and participate in monthly safety training.
  • Comply with all established site and department safety rules and policies.
  • Report unsafe conditions, all accidents and near misses immediately to the shift supervisor or his/her designate
