What does Technical Account Manager do?

This position works with customer engineers, GCMs, planners and ODM to manage counterparts of industry leading brand customers and ODMs, as well as all material vendors and manufacturing factories to deliver quality management over all aspects of packaging design for customer’s projects. The job principal is great total control of packaging development aligned with new products’ NPI schedule, to achieve timely completion and delivery of packaging design, surrogate preparation & validation, each build stage packaging testing with live units, test reports, BOMs, SOPs and component drawings to customers. Proactively solve all problems and issues for customers, ODMs, and collaborating vendors.

What do you need to do?

  • Research and fully understand customer’s new RFQ product packaging proposals, discuss with customer packaging engineers of all details, provide new design in order to award new programs. Request data/documents/files from customers then design in time to aid cost calculation. Actively verify predecessors’ packaging to find out any risks or issues with new product if determined to leverage.
  • Executive Management to conceptualize, design and develop prototypes, sample making and test to finish perfect designs and packing BOM for our customers
  • Coordinate with customers’ and ODM’s packaging and system engineers to plan out entire new packaging development schedule per aligned with new product’s NPI milestones, from the point of business award to mass production.
  • Pre-set and arrange the main packaging validation testing dates for each NPI stage build. Track and follow up during whole design progress and finish preliminary drawing release to ensure of timely sample making and check-fit. Correct design errors or problems prior to validation testing.
  • Perform each stage’s packaging testing including schedule arrangement, 3RD party lab booking, test samples delivery. Arrange regression test to resolve issues found during testing. After that deliver packaging test reports to customers.
  • Create package BOMs, SOPs, and X & A revision packaging drawings and artworks timely by schedule and review them in detail before official release.
  • Work with a variety of materials like wood, molded pulp, corrugated, foam and other packaging materials. NB molded pulp design ability is a plus to NB TAM position.
  • Co-work with USA and Asia teammates to prepare packaging design, sample and material prior to major NPI system builds for ODMs. 
  • Local assistance to finish organization’s tasks for all awarded DT, AIO, NB, FPM and Server business in Taiwan. Deliver packing samples to ODM or finish testing on time to catch up project's schedule. Local sourcing for materials, suppliers and 3rd party Labs if necessary.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree of four-year university.
  • Good at communicating in English (written and verbal) is required.
  • Must have fully knowledge of design with packing and PM job.
  • Ability and skill to build good relationship with Brand customers, ODMs or potential customers is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in MS office software, Adobe illustrator, AutoCAD and Solid Modeling software packages (AutoCAD and Solidworks preferred).
  • Several years of project managing experience or design in packaging field of work for Server and NB products.
