Summary
  • This position coordinates installation of server and workstation computer operating system software and vendor software. Supports Intel-based servers in Microsoft Windows Server environment. Responsible for activities related to system administration for servers and server applications. Changes system software so that system performance will meet objectives. Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations to determine if requested changes to operating systems are necessary. Enters code changes into the computer system to correct errors. Analyzes performance indicators to ensure the computer system is operating efficiently. Assists the Technology Services staff members by giving technical guidance and aiding in problem resolution.
  • This position works under the supervision of the Team Leader and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
  • Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensures data recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups. Procedures to backup and recovery data will be documented and maintained in a common directory.
  • Monitors the operation of operating system, application software and hardware for and servers. Interprets and evaluates the monitored data and formulates a plan of action to maximize the efficiency of the system performance and provide for flexibility and future growth.
  • Responds to any hardware/software system related malfunction. Researches, interprets and evaluates the cause of the malfunction and formulates and implements a plan of corrective action. Documents the malfunction event and resolution process for future reference.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Processing or related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experienced System Engineer requirements consisting of having at least two years system administration experience, including training in systems/vendor/communications software and hardware, and be familiar with the techniques used to monitor, analyze and forecast computer system requirements and utilization. Preferred experience in Active Directory, Exchange 2010, SCCM, SharePoint, AIX/Linux, and Citrix.
