Summary
  • Oversees the billing of services provided by athletic training staff, which includes managing the online program by keeping student-athlete medical records up to date, submitting services provided for reimbursement and communicating with the billing company to utilize resources most efficiently.
  • The Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Manager/ Director and is employed by Mosaic Life Care.
Duties
  • Manages the total well-being of student-athletes including injury care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation
  • Coordinate insurance claim processing for student-athletes, answer questions regarding insurance coverage and resolves insurance claim problems
  • Coordinates with providers and billing entities to ensure proper filing of insurance (primary & secondary) when services are rendered
  • Coordinates with secondary insurance provider to ensure they get all proper documentation to ensure timely and proper payment of claims
  • Maintain accurate medical records for athletes
  • Serve as insurance coordinator for the Athletics Department
  • Ensure all student-athletes have proper insurance coverage
  • Oversees and coordinates the work study student manager program in the athletic training room
  • Coordinator of Mental Health/Nutrition program. Or supervisor of women's sports operations in regard to the sports medicine program
  • Supervise practices and competitions as appropriate with the athletics program
  • Assist with program administration including pre-participation screening and other appropriate record keeping
  • Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • ATC - Athletic Trainer Cert in Missouri (Kansas if required) or eligible to apply for licensure is required within 90 days. BOC Certified Athletic Trainer is required. Clinical\BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days is required. Advanced certifications such as, Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction, Cupping, IASTM (Graston), manual therapies, Mental Health First Aid, QPR Gatekeeper Training, Stop the Bleed is preferred.
