Summary
  • This position is responsible for providing physics support for external beam treatment planning, dose calculations, weekly chart checks, dosimetry summaries, and implant therapy.
  • This position is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
  • Collaborates with the providers and chief physicist in the design of protocols for patient treatment.
  • Performs 2-D and 3-D, IMRT and stereostactic radiosurgery external beam treatment planning and dose calculations, both manual and computerized.
  • Performs brachytherapy treatment planning, handles sources, assists in implanting radioactive sources, conducts radiation surveys of patient rooms following implants. Responsible for shipping\receiving and inventory of radioactive isotopes.
  • Assists in calibrations and quality assurance checks on treatment machines during annual quality assurance checks, including 3D tank data collection and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Medical Physics or comparable is required. Bachelor's Degree Medical Physics or comparable is required.
  • Clinical\BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days is required.
  • Experience in Medical Physics (school or on the job) is required.
    Experience with SBRT and stereotactic radiosurgery is preferred.
    Experience in 3-D Conformal Radiation Therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy, 4-D planning, and brachytherapy is preferred
    Experience with Varian Truebeam accelerators, Eclipse Treatment Planning system, GammaMed Plus iX HDR afterloader and ARIA EMR software is preferred
