Job Description

The Provider Compensation Analyst will work closely with Provider Recruitment, Payroll, Human Resources, Operations and the Medical Group to administer compensation, provide analysis of compensation design and benchmarking, physician productivity analysis, fair market value, and contract review and management.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and administer physician and advanced practice provider compensation strategies, models, and programs that align with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and provider performance goals.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, legal counsel, and key stakeholders to develop, revise, and manage employment agreements, medical director agreements, and other provider contractual arrangements.
  • Perform financial modeling, compensation valuations, benchmarking, and detailed data analysis to support compensation recommendations, compliance, and strategic decision-making.
  • Manage provider compensation operations, including payroll-related compensation changes, incentive calculations, productivity reconciliation, call pay, shift payments, independent contractor payments, and separation obligation recoveries.
  • Conduct provider productivity analysis, including wRVU validation, unlisted code evaluation, manual productivity calculations, and collaboration with revenue cycle teams to ensure accurate productivity reporting.
  • Administer provider compensation surveys and market benchmarking initiatives to evaluate total cash compensation, productivity metrics, call coverage, medical director compensation, and industry trends.
  • Develop and distribute compensation-related communications and reporting tools, including provider statements, scorecards, educational materials, and leadership reports.
  • Serve as the primary liaison and subject matter expert for providers, executive leadership, Human Resources, Finance, Medical Staff Services, Recruitment, and external consultants regarding compensation, productivity, benefits, and employment matters.
  • Manage provider onboarding processes, including compensation plan education, benefits orientation, HR requirements, and system access coordination.
  • Oversee provider retention and incentive programs, including student loan assistance, signing bonuses, CME allowances, and related educational initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate administration, implementation, and payment processing of provider agreements and compensation programs in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Reconcile compensation and productivity data, prepare accruals and journal entry adjustments, and provide financial reporting support for month-end close and accounting processes.
  • Provide ongoing analytical, operational, and strategic support to leadership while performing additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree - Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Management, or related field - Required

Work Experience

2+ Years - Payroll, Compensation, Accounting, and/or Human Resources experience - Required
