Job Description
The Rehabilitation Aide works under the supervision of Registered Nurse, Registered Physical Therapist, Registered Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist. Responsible for assisting therapist, including PTA and COTA in patient treatment, preparation of therapy area pre and post therapy, and transporting patients to and from Therapy Department.

Essential Technical/Motor Skills
The Rehabilitation Aide works under the supervision of Registered Nurse, Registered Physical Therapist, Registered Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist. Responsible for assisting therapist, including PTA and COTA in patient treatment, preparation of therapy area pre and post therapy, and transporting patients to and from Therapy Department.
Responsibilities
- Assists therapist with treatment.
- Prepares, manages and updates patient assignment schedule.
- Transports patients to and from therapy.
- Orders supplies and laundry.
- Assists with patient scheduling and appropriate documentation.
- May assist nursing staff with bathing, toileting and dressing patients.
- Prepares treatment area.
- Other duties assigned.
- H.S. Diploma - Required
- 1 Year - Direct patient care - Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Preferred Upon Hire
- Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off site locations as needed. - Required
Skills and Abilities
Essential Technical/Motor Skills
- Normal fine motor coordination, manipulation of small items, speaking clearly, input data.
- Normal ability to interact socially and communicatively with other people
- Normal strength, endurance and balance.
- Walking, standing, reaching, kneeling, crouching, moving, stooping, lifting.
- Pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Analysis, synthesis, long term and short term memory within normal limits; understand, explain, forecast, follow rules/instructions.
- Visual skills, feeling, and hearing.
- Minimal exposure to topical anesthetics, disinfectants, and body fluids.
- Exposure to extreme heat when using hydrocollators.
