Summary

  • This position conducts financial counseling to include collection of co-pays, deductibles and payment arrangements for all Enterprise balances. Evaluates patient/guarantor for financial assistance, Cobra, and/or other 3rd party payor. Negotiates patient payment plans. Collects accounts receivable.
  • This position works under the direction of the Manager or Clinic Manager and is employed by Mosaic Health System.

Duties

  • Provides personal counseling to assist patient with medical payment arrangement. Interviews patient in order to secure payment/financing of patient’s monetary responsibility.
  • Interviews patient/guarantor to evaluate eligibility for Cobra, financial assistance, or other 3rd party payor for Mosaic Life Care (includes Clinic).
  • Negotiates payment plans for point of service collections and past balances for Enterprise.
  • Assists patient with loan application to aid in the payment of financial responsibility.
  • Performs daily co-payment reconciliation for the Patient Access Services areas and the Financial Counseling Department.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • FDCPA certification required within 18 months post hire.
  • Minimum of one year previous collection experience required. PC and Word computer experience preferred. Typing speed of 45 WPM preferred and 10 key by touch preferred.
