Summary
  • The Physician Practice Manager I works under the supervision of the Medical Director and Vice President to develop and implement department goals. Provides day-to-day oversight primarily of provider (50 or under) operations, including staffing, schedules, licenses, CME, and provider recruiting/onboarding for their department(s). Responsibilities also include monitoring of patient satisfaction, communication & information flow, provider & caregiver evaluations, and quality improvement & regulatory initiatives.
  • This position works under the supervision of the Medical Director and Vice President and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
  • Maintains daily provider schedules at all locations to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Participates in provider hiring process through interviews, credentialing process, recruiting events, orientation process and establishing competency.
  • Serve as direct contact for locums providers, including negotiation of contracts.
  • Track license and CME requirements for providers.
  • Routinely provides objective descriptions of results for standards, quality improvement initiatives, and established measures that matter to the department.
  • Serves as a liaison for senior leadership. Recognizes and generates better ways of handling problems by teaching physicians and staff how to understand and improve work processes, teamwork, communications and management systems.
  • Adopts a workflow that puts the patient first. Set an example to meet patient needs to achieve 100% patient satisfaction scores and resolve complaints.
  • Focuses within sphere of influence on operational and financial resources to achieve the department and Mosaic Life Care goals. Develops and implements a department budget and operational standards to achieve budget. Provides results review to explain variances monthly.
  • Assures regulatory compliances for Joint Commission, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, CLIA and CAP where applicable.

Qualifications
  • All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. H.S. Diploma- Required. Associate's Degree- Health or business administration- required. Bachelor's Degree- Health or business administration- preferred.
  • 3 Years- Experience in a position with a health care organization is required or 1 Year- Experience in a supervisory position required.
