Summary
  • Works under the supervision of the Director and/or Facility Manager. Primarily responsible for managing and maintaining fire detection, alarm, and suppression equipment & systems. The position is responsible for Life Safety, Regulatory Readiness, coordination with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ's) for the hospitals and clinics. Implement and maintain all documentation for inspection(s) and stay current of National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Joint Commission, American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and other regulatory bodies/codes. This position is employed by Mosaic Life Care.
Duties
  • Working knowledge of NFPA Fire and Safety codes, OSHA, EPA, and other health and environmental codes and standards.
  • Performs monthly, bi-annual, and annual National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code inspections, maintains inspection and certification records, troubleshoots problems, and performs daily maintenance on all fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
  • Establishes inspection criteria to meet all state and federal fire codes.
  • Serve as maintenance liaison for environmental tour group for the EOC tours of all the departments in the complex and outside clinics
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Driver's Licence - Valid And In State - Missouri Class E Drivers License within 90 days is required. FEMA Incident Command System 100, 200, and 700 certifications within 1 year is required. OSHA 10 within 90 days is required. Certification from NFPA related to Fire and/or life safety. Preferred Health Care based is preferred.
  • 5 Years of regulatory/Code/Life Safety or related experience is required. 5 Years of experience in coordination/delegation of work is required. 3 Years of experience in budget/performance reporting and/or oversight is preferred. 3 Years of experience Maintenance/Facilities related support environment is preferred.
