Summary
  • A demanding job requiring an understanding of various work functions including, but not limited to, medication distribution, intravenous admixture, inventory management, and general pharmacy service operations. Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assists in the preparation and distribution of medications utilizing automation, packaging, labeling, charging, compounding, data entry, and delivery. The position is responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of medication inventory working closing with pharmacy buyers and clinic leadership.
  • This position works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists to provide services in an outpatient oncology infusion pharmacy, and is employed by Mosaic Life Care.
Duties
  • Maintain required elements of various regulations (Eg USP 797 and USP 800) around sterile compounding under the direction of pharmacy leadership.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of medication inventory in coordination with the pharmacy buyer and clinic leadership.
  • Prepares medications under the direction of the pharmacists and problem solves as needed with the ability to accurately prioritize workflow.
  • Performs regulatory and organizational requirements without reminders. Is compliant with all state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
  • Maintains focus and composure in a fast paced work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma is required.
  • Application with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern (Intern license required if currently enrolled in a school of pharmacy) within 3 days of hire is required. Registration (completion) with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician OR Pharmacy Intern (Intern license required if currently enrolled in a school of pharmacy) within 75 days of hire is required.
  • Hospital pharmacy experience, as well as Intravenous admixture, unit-dose, pharmacy automation knowledge is preferred.
