Details Lead Experience Associate Children's Discovery Center Full Time Status Day Shift Pay: Starting at $16.96 / hour Summary The Lead Experience Associate, aka Lead FUNstigator will be an important leader for the inspireU Children's Discovery Center experience team (FUNstigators). The Lead will fulfill the same responsibilities as the FUNstigators and also be responsible for coaching and leading staff when acting as Lead. FUNstigators are the main point of contact for guests and are responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment for families and children of diverse backgrounds for the entire discovery center. This team runs most aspects of day-to-day operations and customer-facing activities, including engaging with families in our interactive exhibits, selling tickets and memberships, staffing welcome desks, facilitating educational exhibit programming, hosting birthday parties and field trips, and performing general exhibit cleaning. The Inspire Experience Lead will act as daily operations Lead at least two days a week in coordination with the Inspire Experience Manager and Inspire Education Coordinator. This position is employed by Mosaic Health System. Duties Act as daily operations supervisor on average 2 to 3 days a week. Ensure that all exhibits, activities, and programs are prepped and maintained for the day. Coordinate all volunteer and staff schedules for the day to make sure that all activities and areas are covered. Responsible for scheduling and coordinating birthday parties. This includes contacting parents/guardians and ordering party supplies. Work with the Mosaic Life Care Foundation Events Coordinator and inspireU staff for implementation of special events. Ensure that staff are scheduled to cover the events and that spaces are prepped for the day of the event, so that inspireU provides the highest quality experience for our event guests. Promote memorable play experiences by directly engaging with children and their adults to maximize their learning and enjoyment in the discovery center. Cover FUNstigator duties during every shift: - Assist visitors to the Discovery Store and Café. - Process purchases, admissions and any fees for programs, memberships, and events through the discovery center’s ticketing and point-of-sale system. - Control access to the Discovery Center at the entry point by checking visitors in and directing un-ticketed visitors to the self-serve kiosks. - Greet field trip groups and provide orientation and expectations for behavior. - Act as birthday party host. - Restocking/resetting exhibit areas throughout the day. - Perform general Discovery Center cleaning throughout the day. - Present enhancement activities within the exhibits and assist the Inspire Education Coordinator with activities in Creation Station, our maker space. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications H.S. Diploma is required Driver's License - Valid and In State is required if operating a motor vehicle for business purposes 2 Years experience in museum, retail, customer service, or guest-facing roles. Must include experience working with point-of-sale systems and/or customer software/applications. Must include cash handling experience AND Some experience with supervising others/projects, can be either informally or formally is required. Background in one or more of the following areas a plus: movement, music, storytelling, visual arts, health, STEAM, ropes/challenge course elements and team building and Early Childhood and/or elementary program/camp counseling experience a plus.
