The STEP (Start Temporary, End Permanent) program is a 12-week contract-based program that offers the perks of traveling without the travel.

What are the perks of joining the STEP program?

> Competitive Pay – Starting pay will vary based on the role. All STEP caregivers will have eligibility for overtime as well as weekend and night differentials. Participants will also be eligible for Mosaic’s 401k retirement program.

Where in Mosaic will I work?

Cardiovascular Technologist will be in the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Who is eligible to participate in this program?

Cardiovascular Technologist with at least two years of experience are eligible. Former caregivers of Mosaic must have not worked for Mosaic for at least six months to be eligible for the STEP program. Current caregivers are not eligible to participate except those currently in a PRN position who commit to working full-time hours for at least 12 weeks.

Summary
  • This position is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, properly documenting all chronologically procedural events, analytical calculations, medications, equipment set up and operation, and instrumentation. Assists the physician during sterile procedures and assumes responsibility for completion of other functions as assigned.
  • This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System
Duties
  • Assists provider with cardiovascular procedures by scrubbing, and/or first assisting to achieve optimal patient care.
  • Maintains knowledge/expertise of all cardiovascular procedures and team functions, of instruments and supplies used for electrophysiology and interventional cardiovascular procedures, and to provide input for equipment purchase and maintain a cost-effective inventory.
  • Assists with safely transporting patients preoperative to the operating room, positioning of patients for the operative procedure and transporting to post-operative area.
  • Maintains and monitors aseptic technique to reduce risk of surgical site infection as well as contamination of peers.
    Performs advanced computer operations and clerical functions, including assembling patient charts, ordering supplies and compiling reports.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree preferred. Completion of AART, RCIS, or RN program required.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Nurse, or ARRT Radiology Tech license preferred. BLS and ACLS required.
  • Two years’ experience in OR, Cath Lab or Special Procedures required.
