Position Title Coordinator of Creative Content
Job Description
The Coordinator of Creative Content promotes, enhances, grows, and cultivates the Griffon Athletics brand within the city, region, state, and country. With guidance from the Director of Creative Content and Marketing, the Coordinator will assist with the creation and execution of athletic video productions including live broadcasts, video board productions, video-based social media strategy, digital media features, season highlights, special events, coaches show, feature/special interest stories or other needs.

Missouri Western is an NCAA Division II institution, which successfully competes in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) in 16 sports and Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in 1 sport.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Builds the athletics brand within the city, region, stage and country; remaining visible and active in the community relations efforts.
  • Assists in the implementation of long-term goals and strategies regarding the use of digital media production for Griffon Athletics, including video-based social media strategies.
  • Develops video highlights, special interests, and feature productions for Griffon Athletics and its programs for branding, recruiting and fundraising purposes.
  • Produces photos, video features and multimedia for commercial and internal use.
  • Assists with live broadcasts, streaming or other types of production media of athletics contests and events.
  • MWSU Athletics liaison for selected sports on MIAA live-streaming initiatives and required production for the MIAA Network.
  • Creates or manages graphics and marketing materials as it relates to social media, video production and print material (e.g. team posters), as directed.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the MWSU Marketing Department and other internal leadership groups.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in changing circumstances.

  • Two-way interactive video technology and delivery systems.
  • Non-linear and linear audio, photo and video editing.
  • Video production equipment and techniques including audio and video location and television studio production, lighting, graphic design, technical directing, shooting and related basic engineering concepts.
  • Master Control equipment and techniques including related transmission/reception systems for cable, wireless cable, interactive television and distance education tele-classrooms.
  • Photography skills
  • Scriptwriting and storyboarding
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Multiple computer platforms and software.
  • Pre-planning productions.
  • Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
Required Qualifications
  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree in communications/related field with video or production emphasis or three years of video production and programming experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

  • Proven ability to handle high stress situations, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities
Physical Demands
  • General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • May occasionally be exposed to inclement weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
  • Incumbents may, on rare occasions, be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, fumes, odors, dust, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, bodily fluids, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and working at height.
  • May occasionally be exposed to hazardous traffic conditions.
  • Position requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to sit, stand, and bend at the knee and waist, and walk.
  • Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
  • Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on computer, telephone, and related office equipment.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Hours of Work
Hours of work are flexible and will vary depending on the needs of the Athletic Department.
