Job Description | Missouri Western State University invites applications for the position of Head Coach, Baseball. The successful candidate will direct, plan, and manage the operation of an athletic sports program including academic performance of student-athletes, coaching and training, recruiting, scheduling, budgeting, public relations, fundraising and promotion.
Located in St. Joseph, Missouri, just 45 minutes north of Kansas City, Missouri Western is an NCAA Division II institution, which successfully competes in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) in 16 sports and Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in 1 sport.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Manage all aspects of the NCAA Division II baseball program and its student-athletes.
- Monitor the academic performance of baseball student-athletes.
- Monitor the mental and physical health of student-athletes.
- Develop player skills and and provide coaching for student-athletes for specific positions.
- Plan and manage practice sessions and games.
- Scout and recruit baseball student-athletes, coordinating campus visits and the signing of student-athletes.
- Analyze games and develop strategies to improve team performance.
- Coordinate the team travel arrangements and logistics.
- Oversee equipment related to the baseball program.
- Manage budget operations for the program and fundraise as necessary.
- Initiate, coordinate, and participate in fundraising and community engagement activities.
- Organize camps and alumni events to engage university community.
- Hire, train, and manage coaches and other departmental staff.
- Monitor field maintenance.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other general office equipment.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Demands | - Generally works in an office or an indoor or outdoor sports environment.
- May be exposed to the loud noise of an audience at games.
- May be exposed to inclement weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
- Position requires moderate physical activity, and the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
