Position Title Director of the Early College Academy
Job Description
The Director of the Early College Academy (ECA) manages the delivery of all dual credit/dual enrollment programs and serves as the liaison between academic departments and other external entities serviced by Missouri Western. Leads or actively participates in selection and scheduling of courses for marketing of and enrollment of students in select “outreach” programs; actively recruit school districts to use Missouri Western as dual credit/enrollment service provider, recruit and advise students; collaborates in external partnerships.

Supervision: Early College Academy Coordinator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Directing and planning all aspects of the Early College Academy (ECA).
  • Coordinate programs and course delivery with 62+ high school partners
  • Understand and manage three complex models of ECA including: dual credit (courses delivered at the high school by qualified high school faculty), dual enrollment (courses taught by MWSU faculty either on campus or online), and collaborative (courses prepared and managed by a MWSU faculty member but delivered by a high school faculty member with at least a bachelor’s degree in the content area).
  • Arrange for course monitors, course instructors, course liaisons each semester
  • Coordinate with CRM (Slate) to build fall and spring course schedules and offerings
  • Arrange ECA professional development with collaborating high school partners
  • Comply with NACEP and state accreditation
  • Provide annual NACEP and state accreditation reports to administration
  • Manage budget allocations and resources
  • Manage course evaluations for all dual credit and dual enrollment faculty
  • Liaison with Human Resources to ensure all applications, approvals, and additional employment forms are completed and processed
  • Advise ECA students.
  • Coordinate ECA courses and program development.
  • Assess, evaluate, and adjust programmatic offerings according to relevant survey data.
  • Coordinate communication between departments and partnering ECA schools.
  • Manage course enrollments and faculty agreements.
  • Review policies, procedures, and other governing documents to ensure the smooth functioning of the ECA.
  • Provide customer service to students, high schools, faculty, parents, and staff as required.
  • Supervise and train more junior departmental members as necessary.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level and as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • An understanding of high school college credit programs as it relates to curriculum, registration/enrollment, and billing procedures
  • An understanding of high school and university cultures as it relates to marketing and multiple audiences
  • Strong customer service skills, ability to speak and present to large groups, dynamic personality
  • Strong and versatile computer skills and management of multiple platforms
  • Familiarity with NACEP accreditation standards as it relates to coordinating professional development
  • Familiarity with program and unit assessment as it relates to student learning outcomes
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience managing complex systems
  • Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or above
  • 3+ years of experience managing complex systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in K-12 education or related field
  • Deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative data
  • Technology forward
  • Experience as a supervisor
  • Experience with/familiarity with assessment and accrediting bodies
Physical Demands
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
FLSA Exempt
Additional Demands
  • Travel to local and regional high schools to aid in text book delivery, advising, enrollments, and counselor training.
