Job Description | Assists in the daily operational management of the department and performs a wide variety of administrative and support activities to ensure that the department runs smoothly and effectively. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Provide operational and administrative support as required to facilitate the effective performance of the department.
- Serve as a primary point of direct administrative contact and liaison with other departments, individuals, and external institutions and agencies on a range of issues.
- Provide a high level of customer service to visitors to the department, providing appropriate information as necessary.
- Assist with the development and oversight of the budget and financial information.
- Coordinate technical updates and upgrades.
- Maintain and renew departmental contracts.
- Handle phone calls, mail, and emails appropriately and professionally.
- Process departmental paperwork.
- Coordinate schedules and calendars as required; coordinate meetings and events and make travel arrangements as necessary.
- Maintain department telephone lists and organizational charts.
- Draft, edit, and update documentation, spreadsheets, reports, and web pages as required.
- Monitor time reports.
- Maintain office supplies.
- Supervise, train, and mentor student workers.
- Represent the department at meetings and on committees as required.
- Organize, manage content and distribute the weekly employee e-newsletter.
- Fulfill requests for business cards, stationery, digital letterhead and small design projects.
- Process campus project requests.
- Monitor and approve posts on the employee and student listservs.
- Coordinate giveaways for community-related events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Suite programs and Google Workspace.
