Position Title Assessment Coordinator
Job Description
The College of Business and Professional Studies (CBPS), at Missouri Western State University (MWSU) seeks a positive, detail-oriented, organized individual to fill a full-time Assessment Coordinator position. This position works year-round, and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. The Assessment Coordinator will assist departments within CBPS in tracking and compiling assessment data, ensuring timely completion of assessment activities, and supporting faculty in meeting assessment requirements.

CBPS includes programs in business, education, engineering technology, and criminal justice and legal studies. These programs are accredited or approved by third-party organizations such as the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the American Bar Association (ABA), the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology (ABET), the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), and the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE). Each of these external accreditations or approvals carry specific record-keeping and assessment requirements. Additionally, all CBPS programs participate in internal, university-wide assessment processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • The Assessment Coordinator will coordinate with on-campus stakeholders and work closely with CBPS faculty, staff, and leadership to support assessment activities and record-keeping related to program accreditation. This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangements
  • Assist in coordinating and administering assessment activities across CBPS programs and departments.
  • Communicate assessment timelines, requirements, and expectations to faculty and staff. Provide support and reminders to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist in tracking and compiling assessment data, such as measurements of student learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with faculty to collect assessment evidence, such as student work samples, surveys, and evaluations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, rubrics, and surveys to measure student achievement and program outcomes.
  • Conduct basic data analysis and prepare summary reports on assessment findings and trends.
  • Support accreditation reviews and visits
  • Stay updated on best practices, trends, and developments in assessment in higher education
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office programs (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in handling assessment data
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some experience or coursework in assessment, data management, or related areas.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and processes.
Physical Demands
Sedentary Work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
