Position Title Communications Coordinator
Job Description
The Admissions and Enrollment Management team at Missouri Western State University is seeking an innovative and energetic communications professional to help get the exciting MWSU message out to prospective students. Your focus will include managing social media, developing mailing pieces, assisting with writing letters to prospective and accepted students, and helping maintain and develop Admissions web pages.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Develop and manage effective communication plans to meet strategic enrollment goals in coordination with the AVP of Enrollment Management and Office of Admissions.
  • Ensure Enrollment Management and Admissions web pages are current and help manage social media platforms for Enrollment Management and Admissions.
  • Work within SLATE, the customer relationship management system (CRM) used by the Office of Admissions to communicate with future students.
  • Research market trends, competitors and postal guidelines. Lead focus groups and design the print communications used for recruitment efforts. Design, develop and manage HTML email campaigns to support print communications. Create the RFP and manage the bid process for all recruitment materials.
  • Assists in developing and implementing communication plans to meet strategic enrollment goals through targeted outreach to prospective students via direct mail, email, videos, text messaging, and other media.
  • Ensure that Enrollment Management and Admissions websites comply with University guidelines, are engaging and well-structured, and provide current information by regularly reviewing/updating web content.
  • Create a communication flow for registration/orientation programs and help maintain and update the registration/orientation website.
  • Oversee the creation and completion of all acceptance letters/emails (packets), ensuring they are written effectively and are merged, printed and email (emailed) in a timely manner.
  • Assist in and maintain the creation of communication flows for the Graduate School, international efforts, and all academic departments.
  • Work closely with the CRM Administrator for system integrity.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Slate experience preferred
  • Banner experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office and related software (especially Access)
  • HTML code
  • CRM experience; SLATE
  • Web strategy and communication plan management
  • Development of technology-based correspondence and marketing materials
  • Written and oral communication
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
  • Problem solving skills (including technical related problems)

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years’ demonstrated experience in communication plan management and web-based recruitment/marketing.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in higher education environment preferred.
