Job Description
The Assistant Coach assists the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in all aspects of the athletic sports program and the administration of programs to ensure success of student athletes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Assists with the coaching, organization, administration and development of a successful college athletic program
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of details in all aspects of the Women’s Basketball program
  • Evaluate talent in person and on film
  • Recruit and build relationships with prospects that are identified by the staff as good fits for MWSU via phone, text and in person communications
  • Organize and produce scouting reports on opponents in a manner determined by Head Coach
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Head Coach and/or Athletic Director
  • Travel to on and off campus games, work alternative work schedules, including evenings and weekends
  • Comply with all rules and regulations of the NCAA, the MIAA, Missouri Western State University, as well as those of the team
  • Represents the University at campus, alumni and community functions
  • Other duties of a similar nature.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Collegiate Women’s Basketball coaching and/or playing experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill set
  • Valid Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Preferred experience with computer programs: Synergy, Angles and JustPlay
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; fundamentals of the sport; physical conditioning and health; and coaching of athletic sports.
Physical Demands
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Additional Demands
Required travel for recruiting and competition.
