This position can be filled either as Senior Scientist or Principal Scientist.
This position is part time eligible with 80%.
Tasks & responsibilities
- As an experienced subject matter expert in DMPK, you will provide solutions to challenges due to ADME issues within Drug Discovery programs.
- You will work closely with Boehringer Ingelheim’s Drug Discovery in vitro ADME lab leaders as part of the Drug Discovery in vitro ADME center of excellence.
- Furthermore, you will sense project needs early on and consult Research project teams on ADME-related topics such as drug metabolizing enzymes, drug transporters and drug interactions to help optimizing drug properties, support candidate selection and thus contributing to improve overall probability of success of Discovery Research programs.
Additional tasks & responsibilities as Principal Scientist
- You will have substantial scientific impact on Boehringer Ingelheim’s Drug Discovery assets by standing on the scientific edge of external innovation and industry trends and you participate in external expert groups as part of the global ADME scientific community and expert network.
- In addition, you will work closely with BI’s Development in vitro ADME colleagues and act as an interface to vivo PK and clinical pharmacology colleagues with your understanding how to translate in vitro ADME assays to preclinical PK and human in vivo relevance.
- Furthermore, you will coach and support the development of (junior) research scientists.
Requirements
- PhD (or equivalent) in biology, pharmacology, drug metabolism or pharmacokinetics or related disciplines. Industrial experience is considered beneficial
- Solid knowledge of discovery DMPK / in vitro ADME, pharmacology and/or biology
- Collaborative, innovative, and proactive personality with outstanding team-working and excellent communication skills in English - both spoken and written
Additional requirements as Principal Scientist
- PhD (or equivalent) in biology, pharmacology, drug metabolism or pharmacokinetics or related disciplines with ideally long-term industrial experience
- In-depth knowledge of discovery DMPK, in vitro ADME and pharmacology-related topics, ideally combined with experience as a DMPK representative in cross-functional research projects
