The Position

Develop Market Access and Health Care Affairs plans and ensure its execution to address local HC challenges, including Health Economics and HC Affairs strategies, patient support programs, in alignment with local, regional (META) and global priorities. Coordinate health economic studies with META HEOR manager and local experts. Develop a pro-active pricing and reimbursement strategies; Gain and maintain national access for our new and existing products by submitting pricing, reimbursement and health economics dossier to authorities and private funders to accelerate access and support market penetration in line with ROPU/ Global pricing strategy. Provide accurate pricing, reimbursement & enlisting information to respective stakeholders in OPU and ROPU META. Execute pricing, reimbursement and enlisting strategic guidance coming from META, secure price approvals at META level. Ensure Compliance of pricing decisions to the DPCO and engage with the NPPA stakeholders for pro-active understanding of the likely changes and impact of the changes to organization's portfolio. Leading and developing Accounts strategies, ensure execution by Mapping key stakeholders; at key accounts - governmental CGHS, Army, ESI and private funders or Corporate Insurance to secure and accelerate access to BI products. Build and maintain a national network with high level customers: scientific committees, hospital directors, decision makers, external experts, health authorities and administrative staff. Support cross functional teams in establishing IBP and ICP tactical plans and implementation of the same. Build the market access team capability and the access capability of the organization.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop Market Access & HCA plan for the organization.
  • Monitor, analyze HC trends & build Market Access & HC Affairs tactical plan for strategic brands and priority Therapy Area at countries of responsibility.
  • Monitor the healthcare and political environment and competitive landscape to capture events impacting market access of the medicines and advice actions to address national, regional and local threats and opportunities.
  • Management of Pricing and Reimbursement negotiations with governmental (MOH, reimbursement agency) and non-governmental organizations (private health insurance companies, private hospitals, Key accounts. etc.).
  • Assess price and develop pricing strategy to facilitate and accelerate access potential for new and established products for India.
  • Secure Internal approval of pricing strategy in India from IMETA. Getting IMETA approval by initiating e-approval process when its necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with the internal SOPs by maintaining the necessary systems.
  • Mapping of the stakeholders in the NPPA and having a thorough understanding of the current DPCO and the likely changes which could have an impact on the organization.
  • Ensure the development of KAM strategies in line with local OPU priorities to ensure enlisting and support development of KAM capabilities. The key accounts to be focused here are the reimbursed accounts and taking the lead for the pipeline and working in collaboration with the public market team for the commercialized products.
  • Represent Market Access in the brand teams of the relevant Tas.

Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Economics or Business Administration Master Degree in Life Sciences, Economics or Health Economics is a plus.
  • At least 7-8 years of experience in a Market Access role in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Analytical skills to identify and interpret commonly used regulations in Market Access and Pricing.
  • Excellent command of English and local language.
  • Solid understanding of payers and customers’ needs and able to create and offer value adding solutions.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.
  • Accountable: prioritize your work, and drive execution excellence through discipline and collaboration.
  • Entrepreneurial, agile and creative: come up with new ideas in a rapidly evolving environment and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Requires expertise in pricing, reimbursement, health economics and outcomes research local regulations related to pricing and reimbursement.
  • Requires expertise in the field of Market Access, pricing and Health Economics
  • Requires excellent analytical skills and makes evaluative judgments, based on an existent data and analysis of regulations.
  • Key, strategic role and complex. This role works from pre-launch through to post-marketing phase.
  • It requires effective working within the META region, as well as cross-functional product teams within the South African affiliate.
  • Engaging with local funders at a senior level - requires experience of working with payers with a high level of integrity and credibility.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing marketplace and business climate to ensure identification of market and business opportunities for new products.
  • Ability to manage a strong pipeline of new product launches as well as core brands.
  • Position will be based at mumbai.
