This role is accountable for shaping and executing the digital vision for the Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV) organization, aligning with Boehringer Ingelheim’s broader digital strategy and transformation goals. With a strong focus on emerging technologies, this role brings a forward-looking digital perspective to support strategic priorities and regulatory excellence. This role drives operational excellence by taking an end-to-end, holistic view—ensuring lean, user-centric processes, enabling rapid feedback and adaptation, stewarding financial resources responsibly, and measuring success through stakeholder-validated outcomes.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensures functional excellence of the team through assisting with the hiring, developing and retaining key talent
- When direct reports are assigned, builds and maintains a highly skilled workforce of energized employees through hiring, developing, and retaining talents
- Defines and drives the digital vision and innovation roadmap for Global Pharmacovigilance in alignment with corporate strategy and GPV priorities
- Accelerates organizational change management and develop a digital mindset by enabling teams within Global Pharmacovigilance with digital knowledge like new technologies, data and tools
- Accountable for development, oversight and refinement of the PV digital innovation strategy by focusing on regulatory processes, execution excellence, implementation oversight, and continuous refinement
- Leads the execution of the digital strategy, ensuring the adoption of innovative technologies to achieve PV excellence and adapt to a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape
- Oversees the implementation of the PV digital strategy and manage the digital portfolio and roadmap from a technology and innovation perspective
- Fosters a digital mindset across global and local PV teams, IT, and other key functions
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver impactful digital solutions
- Acts as the central point of contact for digital innovation in Pharmacovigilance
- Identifies, evaluates, and integrates emerging technologies that enhance PV capabilities
- Accountable for the creation and continuous refinement of a world class Pharmacovigilance Digital Innovation including steering of use cases in the areas of technology and digital innovation
- Anticipates needs for technology trends and digital use cases, identifies resources required; assesses and prioritizes use cases
- Represents Boehringer Ingelheim as an industry-leading Subject Matter Expert (SME) at global forums and conferences
- Serves as a mentor and trainer for colleagues across the organization
- Collaborates and partners with external vendors / technology networks and screen for major digital trends (scouting) and their relevance for Boehringer, identifies promising candidates and initiates and drives pilots in close collaboration with required partners for Global Pharmacovigilance
- Leads complex, cross-functional digital initiatives and project teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timely execution
- Accountable for the creation and continuous refinement of a world class Pharmacovigilance Digital Innovation including steering of use cases in the areas of technology and digital innovation
- Anticipates needs for technology trends and digital use cases, identifies resources required; assesses and prioritize use cases
- Designs, leads, and implements Organizational Change Management with respect to digital solutions
- Leads teams through digital transformation with a focus on all ethical aspects from a digital perspective, cultural differences, generational differences, and how people behave and need during the adoption of new digital solutions
- Maintains a strong understanding of local and global PV requirements, with a focus on GxP requirements and regulatory guidelines
- Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g. EMA, FDA, etc.), GxP and Company policies and procedures

- A Degree in life sciences / data science, or similar qualification, including a Master’s degree (e.g. MSc); focus on regulatory affairs, life sciences/data science, clinical development, and/or digital solutions
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience working in project or program leadership role or digital leadership role
- Expertise within a GxP/Compliance environment (GVP ideal) strongly preferred
- Experience in data governance and management and Knowledge of the regulatory environment
- Drive, dedication and commitment to shape quickly evolving innovation initiatives combined with team spirit and an integrative personality
- Strong passion for technology and data including knowledge in Life Sciences sector, as well as data science (computer science, statistics); programming; familiarity with elements of data infrastructure, data architectures semantic concepts, IT product development
- Ability to influence and lead change, including the ability to present coherent strategies and influence decision-makers at a senior management level, is required
- Customer focus - dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
- Ability and a strong desire to know or learn something, interest, curiousness
- Open-minded integrator having the ability to think outside of the box
- High level of computer literacy (MS Office Suite Programs; MS Excel statistical functions, and database systems)

- A Degree in life sciences / data science, or similar qualification; focus on regulatory affairs/pharmacovigilance, life sciences/data science, clinical development, and/or digital solutions. Masters degree preferred
