Eagle Communications is seeking a dynamic, results-driven General Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our media/radio stations in St. Joseph and Maryville, MO. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the station’s strategic direction, operations, and financial performance while ensuring that all team members work toward creating high-quality content, building brand loyalty, and maximizing revenue. This individual must have a deep understanding of the media industry, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for engaging with the local community.

This position is in our St. Joseph and Maryville, MO market with stations KFEQ(AM), KKJO, KSJQ, KESJ(AM), KYSJ-AM and KBCT, as well as our leading online news services St. Joseph Post and Maryville Post.

There is a lot of opportunity in this market with powerful stations, award winning on-air and programming talent, and an experienced sales team. We are looking for a hands-on leader with proven success in the media industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Management
o Lead and manage a diverse team, including sales, programming, news, and operations.
o Set clear goals and performance expectations for all departments and team members.
o Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture, encouraging innovation and creativity.
o Mentor and develop talent to ensure continued professional growth and succession planning.

2. Operations Oversight
o Oversee the daily operations of the 6-radio station cluster, ensuring smooth and efficient programming, sales, and administrative functions.
o Ensure compliance with all FCC regulations, broadcasting standards, and company policies.

3. Financial Management
o Develop and manage the station’s budget, ensuring profitability while maintaining high-quality programming.
o Monitor financial performance
o Lead efforts to grow revenue streams through creative advertising and sponsorships, event partnerships, and digital content offerings.

4. Sales and Revenue Growth
o Oversee the sales team and ensure they meet revenue goals through direct client relationships, sponsorships, and advertising sales.
o Develop and implement innovative marketing and sales strategies to attract new advertisers and retain existing clients.
o Foster relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, and organizations to build mutually beneficial partnerships.
5. Community Engagement and Branding
o Serve as the primary public-facing representative of the stations at community events, partnerships, and public relations efforts.
o Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including businesses, community leaders, and public figures.

Experience and Requirements:
• Qualified candidates must have a proven history of developing leaders, exceeding financial/budgetary goals.
• Hiring, training and motivating sales talent.
• Media sales management experience in a comparable market is preferred.
• An entrepreneurial spirit, leadership experience, and an extreme desire to succeed are essential to success.
• The selected candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, be goal-oriented and self-motivated.
• Experience with Marketron and VCreative is beneficial.

Salary:
Compensation is commensurate with experience along with a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid vacation and ESOP (employee stock ownership plan).
