Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking an Electrician in St. Joseph, MO to join our team. The electrician will service the local Herzog facilities and infrastructure in all things electrical and maintenance repair.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

-Installing and repairing electrical systems as needed.
-Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
-Replaces conduit, wiring, and circuit breakers as needed.
-Performing maintenance and repairs.
-Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
-Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or GED
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
-Experience with some low voltage and control wiring preferred
-Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems.
-Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications.
-Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment.
-Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation.
-High standard of integrity and professionalism.
-Valid driver’s license

Pre-Employment Requirements:

-Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
-Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
-Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this role. This position will be physically demanding at times. This is a non-exhaustive overview of the physical requirements of this job.

-Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
-Able to walk up to 3 miles a day.
-Must be able to be aware of surroundings and follow verbal commands while being exposed to moderately loud noises on a daily basis.
-Work in a confined access/space environment with a width of 24 inches.
-Must be able to adapt to various temperature extremes including but not limited to heat, cold, moisture and wind.
-Regularly kneel, bend, squat for extended periods of time.
-Regularly ascend a vertical ladder 8 rungs.
-Able to ascend a steep bank while carrying up to 25 pounds of equipment in hands.
-Regularly grasp or squeeze with forces up to 50 pounds.
-Regularly lift weight up to 50 pounds overhead.
-Regularly carry weights up to 75 pounds up to a distance of 15 feet.
-Able to push/pull a force of 50 pounds.
-Able to work in a safety sensitive work environment.
-While seated, frequently look over left and right shoulders with 180 degrees of movement.
