Position Summary
Our Nestlé Development Center (NDC) in St. Joseph, MO is home to dogs and cats who help us learn, research, and better understand the well-being of pets and promote the human animal bond. When you join us, you'll work to ensure our pets have the best quality of care while participating in cutting edge pet food research. Research that contributes to innovative, first to market dietary solutions as well as trusted all life stage pet food. Our center is located near the metropolitan area of Kansas City, within 30 minutes of the Kansas City International airport. St. Joseph is a tight-knit, rural community packed with character, still within commuting distance to the city thus, providing many residential opportunities.
As a Veterinarian, you will be responsible for daily operation within veterinary clinic and veterinary health program of our pets. You will plan, organize and perform all necessary veterinary procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of the pets and procedures as required in nutrition research protocols.
- Perform all necessary veterinary procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of the pets including documentation of vaccine records, prophylactic programs, clinical diagnostics, and treatment documentation
- Knowledge and compliance of the Animal Welfare Act and all procedures and protocols within the Nestlé R&D Petcare manual
- Ensure proper record retention policy is followed in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act
- Perform procedures as required under nutritional research protocols
- Provide additional training to vets and pet care staff for appropriate pet care
Requirements
- Doctor in Veterinary Medicine degree
- Valid veterinary license for the State of Missouri or the ability to obtain the license
- 1+ years of professional veterinary experience
Other
- USDA accreditation is preferred
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary research environment is preferred
The approximate pay range for this position is $119,000.00 to $150,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with Company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
