For thirty years, Nestlé Purina has been proud to call St. Joseph, Missouri home to two facilities—a wet pet food factory and our Product Technology Center (PTC) dedicated to research and development. The PTC is home to dogs and cats who help us learn, research and better understand the well-being of pets all while enjoying the best quality of life. Located an hour north of Kansas City, the community of 77,000 people is packed with character and a rich history– just like Nestlé Purina is. As a Human Resources Manager in St. Joseph you’ll be responsible for all employee-related initiatives and activities at the plant, including recruitment and selection, employee and labor relations, team building, affirmative action and compliance with all federal and state statutes related to employment and safety. You will work alongside the factory management team and hourly employees with regards to issues related to working relationships, performance and development, and employee engagement projects. It will be your proactive responsibility to continuously improve the human working quality throughout the factory as you collaborate with all levels and lines of talent.

  • Manage employee and labor relations activities in the factory.
  • Be proactive in identifying and recommending initiatives that will continuously improve the plant working environment.
  • Lead and manage local HR team.
  • Counsel, coach and drive continuous improvement efforts pertaining to the working environment.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the area of performance management and employee engagement which includes recommendations for rewards, disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Drive and manage performance evaluations, development plans and succession planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations and Nestle standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role


OTHER

  • 1+ years of labor relations and/or union contract management experience preferred
