TheSTEP (Start Temporary, End Permanent) Nursing program is a 12-week contract-basedprogram that offers the perks of travel nursing without the travel.

What are the perks of joining the STEPprogram?

Where in Mosaic will I work?

Forthe St. Joseph location, RNs will be part of the Critical ResourceUnit (float pool), Emergency Room, or ICU. The Critical Resource Unit providesthe ability for nurses to float to the area of need. Like all nurses in theCritical Resource Unit, STEP caregivers will have the option to self-scheduleand pick up extra shifts, as available.

Forthe Maryville and Albany locations, the STEP caregivers will be assigned to aspecific unit, based on need.

Who is eligible to participate in thisprogram?

RNs with atleast two years of experience are eligible. Former caregivers of Mosaic musthave not worked for Mosaic for at least six months to be eligible for the STEPprogram. Current caregivers are not eligible to participate except thosecurrently in a PRN position who commit to working full-time hours for at least12 weeks.

Summary
  • This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and supervises individual patient care according to standards. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers in the implementation of plans of care. May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers.
  • This position works under the supervision of a Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
  • Completes assessment/reassessment of patient and documents in medical record.
  • Analyzes the information collected to determine patient’s needs and expected outcomes.
  • Develops and implements plan of care based upon the assessment, diagnosis, and expected outcomes of patient.
  • Ensures a discharge plan is a part of the individualized plan of care as appropriate to the population served.
  • Engages in patient/family/staff teaching to achieve the desired patient outcomes.
Qualifications
  • All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Graduate of school of nursing required. BSN Preferred..
  • Licensed in State of Missouri or Kansas, depending upon designated work location. BLS certification required within 90 days from start date.
