  • Pay Range: $16.48 - $20.60 / hour
Summary
The inpatient CNA/PCA works under the supervision and direction of the Director, RN, LPN, or Provider. Administers quality patient care according to established standards. May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers. This position is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Inpatient Areas include:
  • 4 East (Oncology) This is a 16 bed unit that gets to know their patients on a very personal level.
  • 2 East (Neuromuscular Skeletal/ Surgical Overflow) This is a 30 bed with orthopedic, neurology, and medical surgery with diverse patient needs.
  • 3 East (Cardiovascular Thoracic Unit) This is a 48 bed cardiac, thoracic, stroke, and respiratory step down unit. All patients on this unit are on telemetry.

    ROCU (Rapid Observation Care Unit) This is a 20 bed unit with lower acuity patients that need to be cared for 24-48 hours.
  • 3 North (Medical Telemetry/Medical Surgery Overflow) This is a 28 bed medical surgical unit caring for patients with a variety of medical ailments from respiratory, chest pain, wounds, renal failure, & stroke.
  • Float Pool Supports all the inpatient units and is responsible to staff overflow units when open.
  • 5 East (Surgical & Surgical Stepdown) Surgical has 32 bed caring for general surgery, gynecology, urology, bariatric surgery and medical patients.Stepdown has 16 beds providing stepdown care to the general surgery, trauma and bariatric surgery population. May also care for medical patients with mainly wound or respiratory issues.
We will host group interviews with various leaders of the Medical Center for openings in these areas.
Duties
  • Completes daily Activities of Daily Living to meet patient’s needs i.e. personal hygiene, dressing patients, linen change.
  • Feeding patients as indicated; Records food and fluid intake and output when appropriate.
  • Takes and records vital signs including pulse oximetry.
  • Transports patients as appropriate.
  • Lifts, turns, repositions and ambulates patients, alone or with assistance.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • All required education is a minimum requirement, higher levels of education are acceptable. H.S. Diploma required (if you are still in school you must have a certified nursing assistant program with obtainment of certification (C.N.A.).
  • PCA education requirements:

    A. An Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) training program in the last three years, or

    B. A fundamentals of nursing course, or

    C. A certified nursing assistant program with obtainment of certification (C.N.A.), or

    D. A graduate of a professional or practical nursing program who did not pass the state licensure examination in the past three years or

    E. A graduate of a professional or practical nursing program outside the United States and awaiting licensure in this country

  • BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • In lieu of options A-E listed above in the Education section, documented experience as a nurse assistant, emergency medical technician, or surgical technician in the past (3) years required.
