- Pay: $18.55 - $26.90 / hour
- This position will work under the direction of an RN, LPN and/or Provider. Will administer quality patient care according to established standards in multiple specialized nursing units as assigned on a daily basis according to standards. May cover extended leaves of absence and/or excessive vacancies. Opportunities may include the ability to work from 2 to 6 weeks on a unit then rotate to another unit. May be required to work on multiple units including Medical/Surgical, Orthopedic, Oncology, Overflow, Behavioral Annex, Rapid Observation, Step-Down, ICU and LTACH. Will provide exceptional service to all patients, visitors plus external and internal customers. Will be adaptable and competent to an assignment on a Medical-Surgical, Step-Down Unit and/or ICU.
- This position will work under the supervision of a Director and Associate Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
- Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living i.e. personal hygiene, dressing, linen change, etc.
- Feeding patients as indicated; records food and fluid intake and output when appropriate.
- Takes and records vital signs including pulse oximetry.
- Transports patients as appropriate.
- Lifts, turns, repositions and ambulates patients, alone or with assistance.
- Collects and transports specimens for testing when assigned; completes Point of Care testing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. High School Diploma required. PCA education requirements:
- an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) training program in the last three years, or
- a fundamentals of nursing course, or
- a certified nursing assistant program with obtainment of certification (C.N.A.), or
- a graduate of a professional or practical nursing program who did not pass the state licensure examination in the past three years or
- A graduate of a professional or practical nursing program outside the United States and awaiting licensure in this country
- Clinical\BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 Days is required. Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention CPI 90 Days And Any other training required by the organization within 90 days is required.
- In lieu of certification/licensure listed above, documented experience working as a nurse assistant in an inpatient setting in the past three years will qualify for this position. 1 Year Experience as a nurse assistant in an inpatient setting, as well as in Home Health, 6 months of Hospital/Nursing Home experience.
