- The Athletic Trainer is responsible for all activities related to the Football program and the Sports Medicine Department affiliated with the chosen college/university athletics department in combination with Mosaic Life Care Sports Medicine. Serves as the liaison between athletes, providers, nurses, Athletic Director and physical therapists. Other duties as assigned.
- This position is employed by Mosaic Life Care.
- Manages the total well-being of student-athletes including injury care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Serves as the Insurance Coordinator for Northwest Sports Medicine/ Athletics Department
- Oversees the billing services provided by athletic training staff, which includes managing the online program by keeping student-athlete medical records up-to-date, submitting services provided for reimbursement, and communicating with the billing company to utilize resources most efficiently.
- Coordinates insurance claim processing for student-athletes, answers questions regarding insurance coverage and resolves insurance claim problems for athletes and their parents.
- Coordinates with providers and billing entities to ensure proper filing of insurance (primary and secondary) when services are rendered and coordinates with secondary Insurance Provider to ensure all proper documentation is submitted to ensure timely and proper payment of claims
- Other duties as assigned.
- All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree Preferred.
- ATC - Athletic Trainer Cert Missouri (Kansas if required) or eligible to apply for licensure required within 90 days. BOC Certified Athletic Trainer required. Clinical\BCLS - Basic Life Support required within 90 days of employment. Advanced certifications such as, Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction, Cupping, IASTM (Graston), manual therapies, Mental Health First Aid, QPR Gatekeeper Training, Stop the Bleed, preferred. Experience with insurance verification, enrollment and billing for services preferred.
