Summary
  • The pharmacy resident is an active member of the healthcare team where he/she will rotate and provide clinical pharmacy services in a variety of clinical settings throughout the hospital under the direct/indirect supervision of licensed pharmacists.
  • The pharmacy resident works under the general direction of the Director – Pharmacy and Pharmacy Residency Director, and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
  • Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships and technology.
  • Attends Multidisciplinary Treatment Team conferences, reviews patient medical records, provides clinical pharmacy medication assessment and input to patient assessment and discharge goal setting with the Treatment Team.
  • Coordinates the provision of patient- focused pharmaceutical care through the following functions; rational, safe and cost-effective drug therapy management, patient education, drug and poison information, procurement of pharmaceuticals, and active participation on the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Provides effective leadership to the department of pharmacy. Able to strategically identify, internalize and communicate the critical success factors necessary for the pharmacy to support organizational goals. Use appropriate interpersonal skills and methods to develop a team wide spirit and intra-team cooperation.
  • Supports the educational and research mission of the hospital and the department of pharmacy.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Entry level PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy is required.
  • RPH - Registered Pharmacist prior to beginning clinical rotations, Pharmacist license in good standing or actively seeking licensure with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy within 120 days is required. MTS (Medication Therapy Services) Certificate issued by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy within 120 days is also required.
