Summary
  • This position meets the educational and informational needs of new employees and experienced staff of their assigned unit. This position participates in the operational leadership of the unit with the Director/Manager of the area, focusing on new employees and the routine education needs of staff. This position ensures quality metrics are met to provide safe, high quality care for patients and families.
  • This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
  • Meets the education and informational needs of new employees and experienced staff on the unit.
  • Assists the Director and Managers to conduct annual educational needs assessment. Based on needs assessments, assists Director and Managers to provide assurance that staff have opportunities to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes to fulfill role expectations and behavioral competencies.
  • Facilitates a safe learning environment through effective use of adult learning principles and communication skills and Serves as a role model and resource for members of the unit/department staff.
  • Works with Talent Agency and Education to assist in maintaining accurate records of required competencies and education and quality audits.
  • Assists in the monitoring of new caregiver progress during orientation, meeting with caregiver(s), preceptor(s), and Director; providing feedback, formulating goals, and evaluating progress.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma GED or HiSET equivalent is preferred.
  • CPI training and CHEST training provided by Mosaic Life Care required within 180 days. CSCT training provided by Mosaic Life Care required within 1 year.
  • Environmental Services experience required. Experience in quality and development/implementation of education programs preferred.
