Summary
  • This position administers quality patient care according to established standards. May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers. The Graduate Practical Nurse position is time limited. A person may remain in the Graduate Practical Nurse position until one of the following occurs: 1) They become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in their designated working state OR 2) They receive a failing score on the nurse licensure exam and are moved to another position in which they qualify. This position works under the supervision of the Director and under the direction of the RN and/or Provider and is employed by Mosaic Health Systems.
Duties
  • Completes daily reassessments for assigned patients and documents findings.
  • Reinforces patient teaching and family education.
  • Administers medications and monitors patients’ responses to medications including intravenous fluids and medications.
  • Collaborates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others (students, orientees).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Recent graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing, or military equivalent is required.
  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure in state, depending upon designated work location within 90 days is required. IV Certification upon hire is required. Clinical\BCLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days is required. A valid And In State driver's license is required if operating a motor vehicle for business purposes.
