Summary
  • This position is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, properly documenting all chronologically procedural events, analytical calculations, medications, equipment set up and operation, and instrumentation. Assists the physician during sterile procedures and assumes responsibility for completion of other functions as assigned.
  • This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
  • Assists provider with cardiovascular procedures by scrubbing, and/or first assisting to achieve optimal patient care.
  • Maintains knowledge/expertise of all cardiovascular procedures and team functions, of instruments and supplies used for electrophysiology and interventional cardiovascular procedures, and to provide input for equipment purchase and maintain a cost-effective inventory.
  • Assists with safely transporting patients preoperative to the operating room, positioning of patients for the operative procedure and transporting to post-operative area.
  • Maintains and monitors aseptic technique to reduce risk of surgical site infection as well as contamination of peers.
  • Performs advanced computer operations and clerical functions, including assembling patient charts, ordering supplies and compiling reports.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree preferred. Completion of AART, RCIS, Surgical Technologist, LPN or RN program required.
  • Registered Cardio Invasive Specialist (RCIS) is preferred, LPN or Registered Nurse is preferred, or ARRT Radiology Tech license preferred. BLS and ACLS required. EMT - Emergency Medical Tech is preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in OR, Cath Lab or Special Procedures is preferred.
