Summary
  • This position assists physicians in the completion of invasive vascular imaging procedures to include, but not be limited to, cerebral, peripheral and visceral angiography, stent placement, angioplasty, and thrombectomy in addition to the duties of a radiologic technologist. Produces high quality diagnostic images for vascular, neuroradiology, or assigned surgical areas (OR) that meet the standards established by Mosaic Life Care. Acts as liaison to convey information pertaining to patient status. Requires competence in a variety of electronic systems, equipment, technologies, and supplies. Prepares procedure rooms, preps patients for procedure, assists physicians in procedure by circulating and scrubbing procedures, operates a variety of interventional equipment and cleans and restocks procedure rooms following procedures. Practices safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel and patients. Fosters teamwork through effective communication and personal responsibility. Call response time is 30 minutes to be in the hospital.
  • This position reports to the Director, Associate Director, Radiology Manager, and Lead Technologist of Radiology and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
  • Duties for this position include but are not limited to, assisting with pre and post patient assessment, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within scope of practice, inventory management, schedule coordination, and circulating and scrubbing roles during VIR and Neuro Endovascular, procedures.
  • Practices Radiation Safety in accordance with regulations. Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis. Applies knowledge of radiation physics and safety regulations to limit radiation exposure of the general public, patient, fellow workers and self to as low as reasonable achievable (ALARA) and exercises discretion and judgement in the performance of radiographic procedures.
  • Actively participates in the Universal Protocol for all procedures.
  • Operates fluoroscopic equipment and other equipment associated with diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Select software options and imaging parameters when adjusting imaging equipment.
  • View images from an imaging session and keep records of the results.
  • Review and complete patient exam and charges within the radiology information system.

Qualifications
  • All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Completion of Radiologic Technology program required.
  • ARRT(R) - American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists upon hire required, CI - Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) upon hire required, VI - Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) upon hire required. Clinical\BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required.
  • 1 Year Registered Radiology Technologist required, 1 Year Experience in Interventional Radiology preferred.
