Summary
  • This position monitors heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances. Observes cardiac monitors, recognizes, reports and documents rhythm changes. Required to perform ECG`s as a night shift Monitor Tech.
  • This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
  • Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Sets alarms according to guidelines and patient status.
  • Observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm.
  • Informs RN of change in rhythm and documents notification.
  • Enters patient data into central database and logs all patients.
  • Documents monitor patterns every six hours on all monitored patients.
  • Performs ECG`s on the night shift as needed.
  • Organizes and restocks supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. High School Diploma and successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Class within initial training period required.
