  • This position is responsible for securing highly available computing platforms, including servers, networks, and storage. This position is responsible for the Research, Design, Installation, configuration, and maintenance of various infrastructure Backup and Recovery technologies. The successful candidate for this position will be well versed in current server, cloud, and storage technologies, detail-oriented, and have excellent problem-solving skills. This position focuses on providing the organization senior-level skills for state-of-the-art data protection solutions, backup window management, data access methods, security, and a strong knowledge of recovery methodology. In addition, the successful candidate has a solid working knowledge of operating systems, server hardware, public/private cloud, networking, and how these entities are integrated into the infrastructure to support corporate goals, business applications, product solutions, and their operational requirements.
  • This position works under the Director of Information Systems and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
  • Installs, upgrades, and maintains system/vendor software. This software includes the operating system, telecommunications, database management systems, utilities, and other related system software.
  • Provides support to all other TS areas. This includes providing both production and test files, developing testing environments, developing system-enhancing utilities, providing standards and technical guidance and overseeing technical education in the use and functioning of job control language, utilities and standards.
  • Monitors the operating system and telecommunications software and hardware. Interprets and evaluates the monitored data and formulates a plan of action to maximize the efficiency of the system performance and provide for flexibility and future growth.
  • Designs/installs, monitors/tunes and modifies/upgrades database files and database structures using Database Management System software. Provides adequate disk space for data base files while allowing for future growth. Maximizes the efficiency of data base structures, provides data base security and integrity, establishes data base usage, standards and provides backup/recovery procedures.
  • Performs detailed program design, coding, testing, and debugging, documentation and implementation of data telecommunications software.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Processing or related field and trained in vendor software and hardware products required.
  • Equivalent education and or experience in lieu of degree, for an experienced Systems Administrator, an individual should have 5 years system administrator experience and additional training in systems/vendor/communication software and hardware would be required, as well as developing systems administrative skills and techniques required.
