  • Pay: $28.67 - $43.01 / hour
  • This position provides supervision of a specific area of the lab and is responsible for evaluating employee’s performance and ensuring caregivers are competent. Works with the Team Leader to determine and monitor budget, provides recommendations for long and short-term laboratory goals and makes recommendations to hire, counsel and terminate caregivers. Performs testing, monitoring of documentation, complies statistical data for management. Reviews QC, CAP Surveys and Laboratory Department QA’s. Evaluates new procedures, trains new personnel, writes procedures, answers telephones, collects blood specimens, and keeps work area cleaned and stocked. Delivers excellent customer service.
  • This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System
  • Resource person for laboratory staff, providers, nurses, office personnel and/or internal and external customers. As the resource, the Lead is responsible for investigating and resolving any issues/concerns that are identified. Perform testing procedures, quality control testing, etc., and provides technical supervision and assistance in a specific area.
  • Review QC records, maintenance records, etc. and submit them to lab management. Review Quality Assurance and Quality Assurance documentation as needed for continuous improvement.
  • Participates in long and short-term planning of business objectives and budget preparation for the Laboratory. Reviews department budget monthly. Evaluate new test methods and train new personnel on department policies, procedures and documentation. Writes new procedures as needed. Reviews and updates department procedures as needed and annually to comply with requirements of regulatory agencies and standards of laboratory. Communicates changes in policies and procedures to staff and appropriate individuals.
  • Responsible for department preparation and participation in CAP, AABB, JCAHO inspections. Performs CAP peer review inspections for outside hospitals laboratories. Participates in Laboratory management call rotation to ensure appropriate staffing. Designs and presents in services and educational updates. Give competency testing as defined to staff with evaluations completed and documentation to Team Leader. Takes immediate action of corrective action for the infraction of Mosaic Standards as necessary and provides documentation and feedback to Team Leader.
  • Collects blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary puncture, when needed and transport them to the lab. Responsible for inventory and ordering supplies. Stocks and maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Four year college science degree and/or including one year training in an approved clinical laboratory training program.
  • MT(ASCP) or equivalent. Required by CLIA regulations.
  • Four years of general laboratory experience as a MT(ASCP).
