Job Duties: Diagnose and treat a full spectrum of acute and chronic diseases and disorders of the kidneys and their functions. Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral. Stress the importance of preventative health care measures. Use all available resources in diagnosis and treatment, including dialysis, in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner. Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients and patients’ families concerning treatment and care of patients. Refer those cases that require specialist services while maintaining responsibility to assure that continuity of care is provided. Take nephrology call rotation. Frequent travel to clinics in Buchanan County and within a 100-mile radius of St. Joseph, Missouri.

Education Required: MD or DO
Other Requirements:

License to practice medicine in Missouri.

Completion of a nephrology fellowship.
