The STEP (Start Temporary, End Permanent) Nursing program is a 12-week contract-based program that offers the perks of travel nursing without the travel.

What are the perks of joining the STEP program?

> Competitive Pay – Starting pay will vary based on the role. All STEP caregivers will have eligibility for overtime as well as weekend and night differentials. Participants will also be eligible for Mosaic’s 401k retirement program.

Where in Mosaic will I work?

For the St. Joseph location, RNs will be part of the Critical Resource Unit (float pool), Emergency Room, or ICU. The Critical Resource Unit provides the ability for nurses to float to the area of need. Like all nurses in the Critical Resource Unit, STEP caregivers will have the option to self-schedule and pick up extra shifts, as available.

For the Maryville and Albany locations, the STEP caregivers will be assigned to a specific unit, based on need.

Who is eligible to participate in this program?

RNs with at least two years of experience are eligible. Former caregivers of Mosaic must have not worked for Mosaic for at least six months to be eligible for the STEP program.

  • This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and supervises individual patient care according to standards. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers in the implementation of plans of care. May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers.
  • This position works under the supervision of a Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
  • Completes assessment/reassessment of patient and documents in medical record.
  • Analyzes the information collected to determine patient’s needs and expected outcomes.
  • Develops and implements plan of care based upon the assessment, diagnosis, and expected outcomes of patient.
  • Ensures a discharge plan is a part of the individualized plan of care as appropriate to the population served.
  • Engages in patient/family/staff teaching to achieve the desired patient outcomes.
  • All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. Graduate of school of nursing required. BSN Preferred..
  • Licensed in State of Missouri or Kansas, depending upon designated work location. BLS certification required within 90 days from start date.
