Position Title Residence Life Coordinator
Job Description
The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) coordinates a comprehensive residential living program focused on community relationships, student success, and student retention. This position will live and work in Vartabedian Hall.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provide conflict mediation and resources to students.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and supervising Resident Assistants.
  • Manage front desk operations. Including overseeing hiring, training, and supervising Desk Assistants.
  • Oversee occupancy, room assignments, key tracking, and hall equipment for designated building.
  • Participates in rotation of 24-hour on-call emergency assistance.
  • Develop and oversee educational programs for residence hall students.
  • Serve as a student conduct officer and investigator, working with the Dean of Student’s investigations as well as with Residential Life.
  • Assists with summer housing, camps and conferences, enrollment sessions, and recruitment events.
  • Advises the Resident Assistant Council.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Foundational knowledge of student development theory.
  • Ability to write reports and complete all relevant documentation.
  • Understanding the housing database and contract process; ability to assist students with related queries.
  • Good crisis management skills.
  • Basic understanding of facilities management.
  • Ability to provide emergency response as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other general office equipment.
  • Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Communication, applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, students, and the general public; sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must have some experience in student housing, including specific experience in conflict mediation, using housing databases, and crisis management.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College Student Personnel (CSP).
Physical Demands
  • Medium work; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move.
  • Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to sit, stand, and bend at the knee and waist, and walk.
  • Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
  • Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on computer, telephone, and related office equipment.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
  • Participates in rotation for providing 24-hour on-call emergency assistance.
  • Incumbent must live in campus housing.
