Job Description | The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) coordinates a comprehensive residential living program focused on community relationships, student success, and student retention. This position will live and work in Vartabedian Hall.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Provide conflict mediation and resources to students.
- Assist with hiring, training, and supervising Resident Assistants.
- Manage front desk operations. Including overseeing hiring, training, and supervising Desk Assistants.
- Oversee occupancy, room assignments, key tracking, and hall equipment for designated building.
- Participates in rotation of 24-hour on-call emergency assistance.
- Develop and oversee educational programs for residence hall students.
- Serve as a student conduct officer and investigator, working with the Dean of Student’s investigations as well as with Residential Life.
- Assists with summer housing, camps and conferences, enrollment sessions, and recruitment events.
- Advises the Resident Assistant Council.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Foundational knowledge of student development theory.
- Ability to write reports and complete all relevant documentation.
- Understanding the housing database and contract process; ability to assist students with related queries.
- Good crisis management skills.
- Basic understanding of facilities management.
- Ability to provide emergency response as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other general office equipment.
- Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Communication, applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, students, and the general public; sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Physical Demands | - Medium work; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move.
- Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
- Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to sit, stand, and bend at the knee and waist, and walk.
- Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
- Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on computer, telephone, and related office equipment.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Participates in rotation for providing 24-hour on-call emergency assistance.
- Incumbent must live in campus housing.
