Job Description | The Groundskeeper performs maintenance and upkeep of university grounds, landscaping, parking lots, streets, and athletic fields.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Maintains university grounds, parking lots, streets, and athletic fields by mowing, landscaping, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, and patching with the aid of grounds maintenance equipment; including tractors, backhoes, skid loaders, dump trucks, and snow removal equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance and repair on grounds equipment.
- Picks up trash on campus grounds and streets and empties exterior campus waste receptacles.
- Assists with moving equipment, materials, supplies, furnishings, etc. for departments and university events.
- Assists in the installation of underground utilities, such as sprinkler systems, water, gas, sewer, and electrical lines.
- Measures and paints athletic fields for games and events and performs maintenance on sprinkler systems.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

- Exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, intense noises, and travel.
