Gym Floor Finishing Crew Lead (Seasonal)
Hillyard, Inc. is currently seeking a Gym Floor Finishing Crew Lead to join our team for a seasonal opportunity.

As a Crew Lead, you'll help coordinate daily project activities, mentor team members, and play a key role in restoring and refinishing athletic flooring for schools and facilities throughout the region.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and support a crew performing gym floor refinishing and restoration projects.
  • Assist with moving equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites.
  • Prepare floors for refinishing, including sweeping, vacuuming, masking, and surface preparation.
  • Support and oversee the floor abrasion and refinishing process.
  • Apply floor finishes and coatings according to project specifications.
  • Delegate daily tasks and help ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Train and mentor crew members on proper procedures, techniques, and safety practices.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and project leadership throughout each project.
What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1–2 years of gym floor finishing, floor refinishing, construction, maintenance, flooring, or related experience preferred.
  • Natural leadership abilities and a willingness to help guide and support team members.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and accountability.
  • Ability to work in a physically active, hands-on environment.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • Must be willing to travel to project locations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
