Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade corporate network.
- Develop methods and tools to be used to test and implement new LAN/WAN hardware.
- Engage in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Maintain network diagram and related technical documentation.
- Analyze the current network structure and develop ways to improve network efficiency.
- Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues.
- Make recommendations for purchases of network hardware, software, and participate in the evaluation and selection of those devices.
- Prepares reference items for users by writing operating instructions.
- Participate in disaster recovery procedures.
- Protects company operations by maintaining confidential information.
- Performs duties in a safe manner and protects themselves and others from known and expected hazards.
- Perform other job-related duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications - Education and Experience:
Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, with 2+ years’ experience in network administration or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
· Solid networking knowledge, including configuration and Administration of LANs, WANs, Switches, VLANs, VPNs, and Wi-Fi Access Points.
· Good organizational skills and positive attitude.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
· CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification.
· CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification.
· CCNA or CCNP certification.
· Working knowledge of Cisco, Fortinet, and HP Aruba network devices.
Physical Requirements/Other:
· Mainly sedentary, however, stooping, reaching, walking, climbing, and lifting may be required.
· Must be available and able to work extended or after-hours support when required.
· Some travel required.
