Decorating Group Leader Helper
Location: St. Joseph Distribution Center | 2330 SW Lower Lake Rd, St. Joseph, MO 64504
Pay: $18.66/hr. base pay + incentive pay
Shift: 3rd Shift | Sunday – Thursday | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Pay Frequency: Weekly (Friday)

Job Responsibilities

As a Decorating Group Leader Helper, you’ll support the decorating and shipping processes to ensure every customer order is accurate, labeled, and palletized correctly.

Primary duties include:

  • Verify battery counts against customer order sheets to eliminate shortages
  • Attach load identification cards to correct pallets and verify customer information
  • Perform decorating line tasks such as labeling, stenciling, painting, and spray operations
  • Assist with machine setup, operation, and cleaning of washing machines, spray booths, and testing equipment
  • Inspect products for appearance and conformance to specifications
  • Train new employees on decorating line procedures
  • Input work orders into Maximo as needed for equipment maintenance
  • Maintain clean and safe work area and participate in High Performance Team (HPT) initiatives

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 6+ months of manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills
  • Comfortable working overnight hours and occasional overtime
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, uniform, and safety boots)
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to safety and quality standards

The St. Joseph Distribution Center (SJDC) opened in 1995 and employs over 265 people. The facility packages, tests, and ships Clarios batteries to customers nationwide, supporting both distribution and assembly operations. SJDC takes pride in its strong community partnerships, including support for The United Way, The Strong Foundation, and Soldier’s Angels.
