| POSITION TITLE: Plans Review Coordinator DEPARTMENT: Planning & Community Development DIVISION: Building SALARY: $58,625.00 yr. / $28.1851 hr. CLOSING: Until Filled Job Summary/Scope Under supervision, reviews construction plans and specifications of new buildings and additions and alterations to existing buildings for completeness for preliminary overview by the development review committee; prepares written advisory reports on the initial overview process as well as discrepancies and non-compliant code issues found in plans and specifications during the course of the construction review process. Material and Equipment Directly Used Basic computer skills in association with word, excel, outlook, access and internet programs. Be able to use and interpret drafting/architectural/engineering scales. Use of basic office equipment. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required. Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is conducted in an office environment. Work involves sitting, standing, stooping, reaching and bending. Conduct construction site verification as required. Lifting plans set daily with weights of up to 30 lbs. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor. Education Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university in construction management, engineering or architecture, or any equivalent education and experience, certification in appropriate enforcement discipline. Plans Examiner Certification in the individual construction disciplines for residential construction is required within one year of employment. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment. Any job offer made by the City is contingent upon the applicant passing the drug screening and background check.
