| JOB TITLE: Shallow Water Lifeguard DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation & Civic Facilities DIVISION: Aquatics SALARY: $15.50 Hourly CLOSING DATE: Until Filled Job Summary Performs lifeguard duties in water areas not to exceed three feet of water depth. Rotates in other areas including waterslide dispatcher, front gate and custodial duties. Responsible for the safety and discipline of the swimmers and patrons. Required (Essential) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Material and Equipment Directly Used Cleaning supplies and equipment used in maintaining the booth/gate/pool area. Knowledge of first aid supplies, CPR, and AED equipment. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Work is performed in an outside setting, including cold, dust, dirt, exposure to chemicals and extreme heat. Must be able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to routinely lift objects weighing as much as 20 pounds, occasionally assist lifting objects weighing excess of 100 pounds. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested off and approved by the appropriate supervisor. Education Attending High School or have graduated. Must be at least 15 years of age. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment. Any job offer made by the City is contingent upon the applicant passing the drug screening and background check.
