| JOB TITLE: WIC Health Professional DEPARTMENT: Health DIVISION WIC SALARY: $33,118.00/YR $15.922115/HR CLOSING DATE: Until filled Job Summary/Scope Provide a variety of clerical services set forth in the guidelines of the Missouri WIC WOM. Prescreens applicants, obtains certification and immunization data, performs anthropometric assessment, and biochemical/bloodwork as needed. No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities. Material and Equipment Directly Used Personal computer, printer, scanner, signature pad, card reader, copier, calculator, fax, telephone, HemoCue analyzer and other medical supplies used for hemoglobin testing. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required. Working Environment/Physical Requirements Work is performed in an indoor setting with a controlled environment. Health Department activities may require an outdoor setting. You must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time. Work involves oral communication through the use of telephone, e-mails or one on one client contacts. Other physical activity includes standing, bending and stooping. You may be exposed to environmental conditions, such as very active and screaming children. Seldom need to lift more than 10 to 20 pounds. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes or trainings. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of state required training. Mandatory retraining every five years as required by state WIC. Two years of experience in a community health nutrition program and/or some credits in a nutrition related allied health program is desirable. All applicants must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment. Any job offer made by the City is contingent upon the applicant passing the drug screening and background check.
